Text Minding Associate

Robyn holds a Graduate Certificate in Editing and Publishing from the University of Southern Queensland and is an accredited editor (AE) with the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd). She works with a wide range of material, including research theses, academic papers, professional case studies, and technical reports. Her clients include university students and staff, government agencies, and consultants in environmental and scientific fields. She has also volunteered as editor of Context, the newsletter of the Australian Society for Technical Communication.

Robyn’s background is in education: she has qualifications in preschool, primary, and special education, with a major in hearing impairment. As a teacher, Robyn often needed to adapt written material to suit a particular audience. Her interest in working with words has led to further study and a career as a professional editor. With training in language learning, Robyn is familiar with the needs of writers whose first language is not English, and she is adept at presenting complex ideas in plain English.
