Claire is a writer, editor and teacher of English. Her love of words and language began in childhood, with the discovery that her grandmother’s library of poetry and National Geographics offered entry into new worlds. A Dean’s Scholar’s Advanced degree in English literature allowed Claire to continue her pilgrimage through the library stacks. She then trained as a journalist, thriving on drawing out unique stories and crafting them for newspaper and magazine readerships.

As an experienced teacher of secondary school English and English as an Additional Language, Claire also has a passion for knowledge and is committed to life-long learning. She is skilled in building and nurturing relationships, always working to elicit the very best from her students. Claire holds a post-graduate qualification in Editing and Publishing, and has been a freelance academic editor for over ten years. She delights in ensuring precision and clarity in the written word, seeking the most compelling angle of presentation. Her editing reflects her expertise in text-crafting, and her warm and sincere engagement with the interests of each author.
